How long after taking oxycodone can it be detected on a mouth swab test?

Oxycodone can be detected by a mouth swab test for anything up to four days after the substance was last consumed. However, the drug can still be detected in other ways via urine, blood and hair follicles.

Oxycodone is used to treat patients who are suffering from moderate to severe pain.

The substance is an opioid (narcotic), whose molecular construction is very similar to that of morphine.

It is a semi-synthetic opioid, which was developed in 1916 in Germany to improve on other opioids such as heroin and codeine.

  • Standard urine tests can detect the presence of the drug in a person's urine for anything up to four days after it was last taken.
  • Blood tests can only find traces of the chemical within twenty-four hours after oxycodone was used.
  • Hair follicle testing is used to determined a longer-term drug history of an individual. This method of testing can find oxycodone in a person's system for up to three months after the substance was last used.

It can be detected for approximately 90 days - so if you are on probation, you'd better come up with something.
