- The drink, Five-Hour Energy contains the vitamins B6 and B12 along with Niacin (B3) and Folic acid (B9). It gets its "energy" from the substances citicoline, tyrosine, phenylalanine, taurine, malic acid, glucuronolactone and caffeine. None of these are tested for in drug tests.
- There has never been a single confirmed case of someone failing a drug test because they have ingested a Five-Hour Energy drink. There is also no scientific evidence to support the claim that it could make you fail a screening.
- The company that manufactures Five-Hour Energy has claimed that, during a scientific study, the subjects who drank Five-Hour Energy significantly outperformed those subjects who were given a placebo. The experiment tested the subjects on their attention span and self-awareness.
