Yes, Seroquel has been known to cause a false-positive reading on standard and extended drug tests.

If you are taking Seroquel regularly and are expecting to be drug tested in the near future, it would be advisable to take the packet and the prescription form to the test.

This is in order to prove to the technician that the false positive was due to the Seroquel, and not to an illegal or abusive substance.

Does Seroquel show up on a urine test?

  • Seroquel works by changing the chemical balance of the brain. It is an anti-psychotic medicine which is used to treat schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and depression.
  • Never take more than the prescribed amount of Seroquel, as it can have serious side-effects such as a rapid or irregular hear rate, tremors, light-headedness, confusion, weakness, nausea, vomiting, high fever and blurred vision.
  • Do not take Seroquel if you are pregnant or have just given birth, as the substance can be harmful both to a baby in the womb and when it is passed through breast milk.
Although it is not one hundred percent certain to do so, Seroquel has been known to produce false-positives on drug tests.

Seroquel shows up as something. My probation officer needed me to get a letter from my doctor to show that I was on it so I wouldn't get a false positive.
