If you are concerned about the status or result of your drug test, then it would not be a bad idea to get in touch with your probation officer.

When you are being dealt with by a probation officer, making a good impression is important, and calling them to express your concerns can only be a good thing. It shows you care about your current situation.

They probably will not be able to tell you the result of your test over the phone, and instead they usually send the outcome in writing.

Will my probation officer call me if I fail a drug test?
  • A probation officer has the power to give you any form of drug test they deem necessary. This will be related to the nature of your crime and if you have any history of using illegal and abusive substances.
  • These tests can come in a multiple forms, but the most common methods of drug testing are: Urine, blood, saliva, hair and EEG. Urine and saliva tests are standard procedures, but the other tests can detect drug use further back.
If you are concerned, then I would urge you to call the probation officer, as this will do you no harm!

Why not? I don't see why there would be a problem contacting your PO about drug test results - although they might not give them to you over the phone, especially if it is dirty.

They will want you to come into the office so they can fuss you out in person and make you paranoid about going back to jail.
