As a drug and alcohol counselor, I know for a fact that Ambien can show a false positive for benzodiazepines. It can also show up in your system for much longer than 8-10 hours, It takes anywhere from 48-72 hours to get out of your system completely. Please take as prescribed, and if possible have someone there who can make sure you do not get up and drive, or worse. There is history of people using this and having zero recollections of performing different tasks after sleeping.
Ambien is very similar to a Benzodiazepine and is usually considered as such. Therefore, it might show up on a drug test.
Krystal, you may want to research that bit more. Ambien has indeed been known to cause false positives for benzos. However, it'll be out of your system completely at around 12 hours after taking it and will usually drop below the threshold that it may show as falsely benzo positive around 8-10 hours.
Its in the drug class of benzos
No, Ambien will not show up on a drug test. It doesn't show as a benzo.
It is a prescribed medicine so why would you care?
