- How long does Mephedrone stay in your system?
Generally speaking, most drugs will be out of your system within 4-5 days so if you have a drugs test coming up you should give yourself at least 5 days to ensure it is out of your system. If you are very worried about having drugs in your system it is a better idea to simply not take any drugs.
It is said that Mephedrone will not appear on a standard drugs test because up until 2010 it was not classed as illegal in Europe. It is not technically illegal in the US as long as it is sold as 'plant food' or 'bath salts' and this is how many people will come across it.
It is not a legal drug and it is illegal to sell it with the knowledge that it will be consumed by humans. Sometimes mephedrone will be cut with other drugs so that the makers can make more money from it by cutting costs and/or increasing the quality of the drug. Mephedrone is a synthetic stimulant that has similar effects as MDMA, cocaine and amphetamines. It comes in the form of either powder or tablets and is consumed by swallowing the tablet, snorting or injecting the powder. It is thought to be manufactured in China and there are many dangers and side effects of the drug.
Many people will grind their teeth when taking the drug and there have been deaths following people taking the drug which have received a lot of media attention. In 2009 it was the 4th most popular street drug in the UK despite the media attention surrounding the deaths.
