Is Oxycodone The Same As Oxycontin?

I am a nurse and oxycodone is oxycontin.....oxycontin is just the name that purdue pharma has trademarked for their oxycodone that is in and extended release form. The reason that you think it is stronger is because the way it is designed to release over an extended period of time. IF you take that coating off and crush it or break it or alter it in anyway from the whole pill form (snorting,shooting up, etc) thats when you get all the dose instantly therefore making it fell stronger. IF you do oxycontin and take a drug test it don't show up as oxycontin it will be revealed as oxycodone...hope that helps...I have been a nurse for 10yrs and have also been prescribed oxycodone30mgs for 3 yrs so...I can be a little knowledgable on the situation...its sorta like if you get Tylox prescribed you will get a red capsule with the company name and tylox on it...if you get percocet 10mg/apap600 you will get a big yellow pill with percocet on it, same with oxycontin  you will get a pill with OC on one side and the milligram on the other...thats just the brand names....generic tylox is prescribed as oxycodone/apap 5-500 and its a capsule thats  red and white, generic perc 10's is oxycodone/apap 10-600 and is also a big yellow pill with an E797 or something and a 10on one side.....and so on...oxycodone and oxycontin is the same.....its just oxycontin is the brand name purdue pharma has chosen

There are all kinds of oxycodone, Roxy's, perks,tylox they all have oxycodone in them some are buffered with other things

One is generic but both contain same ingredients

No no no no they are not the same     Yes they do the same thing and all that but oxycontin is much much stronger so don't think you can take  just as many as if they were oxycodone.
Oxycodone is percocet that is the active ingredient in percocet  you see percocet is the brand name but it is the most famous name so many people just call it that just like Q-TIPS   Know what I mean.

I disagree. Oxycodone is the generic name for percocet. Oxycontin and Oxycodone are two totally different painkillers.

Oxycodone is the same as oxycontin, but it can be replaced with percoset.
