- THC traces will show up in the hair about a week after consuming marijuana. This is because it takes time for the THC in the blood to get into the hair follicles.
- All drugs (not just marijuana) take a long time to naturally leave the hair follicles and this is why a hair test is used to look for drug use in a person over a prolonged period of time.
- There are hair products on the market which claim to be able to wash the traces of THC out of hair. However, there is little scientific research into how effective these products are.
